Anxiety and stress have almost become a lifestyle for the modern man. We have a hectic schedule, we have deadlines and with the increasingly capitalist world, we have to work more to earn more. We have to give in our hundred percent to keep up. Anxiety and stress can be particularly bad because they lead to other hazards like weight gain, diabetes or blood pressure.
Lavender oil is considered to be a very effective natural ingredient against stress. It has 150 active compounds that render it its anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, antibacterial, antiviral and sedative properties.
University of Maryland Medical Centre studied the medicinal properties of the lavender oil and found it to be quite an active combatant against insomnia, alopecia, stress, anxiety and postoperative pain. Another study conducted by the University of Florida shows how lavender oil reduces anxiety and brings down the pulse rate.
As a very healthy ingredient in our diet, lavender oil can work towards detoxification of the body, decreasing headaches and other problems related to stress.
Recipe:
Add one cup honey with twelve cups of water and the juice of six lemons squeezed. Add more water or honey according to your taste and then use one drop of lavender oil and mix it. If you wish, you can serve it with lavender sprigs for garnish.
The combination of lemon with lavender will have the added benefit of increasing immunity. It will prevent skin infections because of its antifungal properties. It will also act as an antiseptic. Most importantly it will act as an analgesic remedy to reduce the pain and clean the liver and kidneys.
Because lavender oil is so easily received by human bodies, it helps with many health conditions including headache, inflammation, high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, and sleeping issues. A reduction in anxiety is known to increase concentration and focus. The juice will also increase your pain tolerance and act as an antiseptic.
There is no reason why this drink should not become a daily routine. A drop of lavender takes away about half of our stress-related problems.
